Things: Sense of Herself/ Sense of a People
Sense of Herself/ Sense of a People” is a photo-based work that documents objects and foods that relate to Jewish American identity; my identity. It is an installation that consists of over 100 16”x20”images ranging from a photograph of a pink plastic princess crown, a hagaddah for the American family, and a bowl of matzo ball soup. It is through the process of collecting and recording that I have been able to examine and re-examine who I am as a woman, Jew and an artist (not necessarily in any specific order).
